In the dark of night City streets wet with rain Wind swept damp autumn leaves Drip hour after rainy hour A street light shines Illuminating wet circles of yesterday Footsteps pass in the shadows Chilly breezes whip about Until the roaring winds arrive Slapping against the trees Forcing them to bend and bow Their branches gracefully sway While rain pitter patters away Until the night sky opens up wide And the rains pound the earth The gracefully sweeping branches Loudly swish through the stormy night
Great description of night. The artwork gave life to your words. You create a vision of being cold and wet. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

One can sense the night movement... the dance of branches and the song of the winds... Even in the rain, it's the perfect night for walking and finding chilled inspiration!

Having a truly beautiful day here... Thank YOU! :)
Love this! It's very visual, the reader can almost feel the breeze and the chill from the rain and hear it all happening too. The swish of the wind through the branches and the patter patter of the falling rain.
I really love this! The imagery in this and the descriptions really bring this poem to life. Its similar to autumn nights I've experienced. An awesome poem!
