How I Love Thee

How I Love Thee

A Poem by Tinamac
"

After the split from my childs father it was extremely hard to know that my son was sick (just a simple cold or flu) and I couldnt be there to mother him... it was his dads week.

"

How I Love Thee

There are oceans that stretch to the farthest reaches of the earth

But they cannot stretch so far as my love

You, my sunrise, my rain, my evening star.

There are deserts that stretch to the farthest reaches of some continents

You quench my thirst with love so sweet and innocent

Like that of early morning dew

There are jungles that stretch to the edge of some earthly places

These jungles house many an endangered species

Like kindness is rare these days

You are this jungle the keeper of my heart

There is a place in every soul that is cold and dark

You broke down the door and lit a fire

Stoking it with your presence

There are folks who reside in pain blind to the future

I was without sight

Until you came and opened my eyes

Changing my tears to hope

There are millenniums past and some to come

I pray there is time ahead for me

As my life is dedicated to showing you

How I Love Thee

This is very well written. It is so descriptive and gives tons of imagery. Keep up the good work! =]

The title of this poem, How I Love Thee, is an
inspiration in and of itself. It expresses the idea of
love, our inability to tell another how you really feel
about them---but you have, you have told the world
how you feel, in brief and the sweetest terms.
I have neither the time nor the ability to properly
critique this wonderful poem, I will just save it and love it.
