Sunlight Shines

Sunlight Shines

A Poem by T L Barnes

Where do we go?

The sunlight shines but freezes in my soul.

What do we know?

The quiet pulse of life forever grows.

And it winds on in darkened shadows,

Twists round hate on blackened pages,

Screams down,

And drowns the land in fear.

It’s all your imagination

That lines the way for protestation.

That falls and dies inside creative minds

That wash and move the land, with tears.

Sweet dreams, but don’t sleep at night.

The eagle soars but it’s not in flight.

Wash that blood away.

Never walk my way.

Nice piece, really balanced through the stanzas and the language is fantastic. Truly a beautiful poem.
