Touch What You Treasure

Touch What You Treasure

A Poem by T L Barnes

If the sheltered never set out to explore,

Does their image of beauty fade?

If they never love, if they never adore

Will their vision remain the same?

Touch what you treasure

Encounter the fear,

As it rips through your heart

Bring it all the more near.

A web in seasons memory is wove,

Dew drops hang upon it,

Each embraces a part of your soul.

Step out with vague vacillation,

Eyes focused on unforeseen light.

The darkness and haze will soften

As your foot-falls sink into the night.
