Ch. 17: An Affair To RememberA Chapter by Tina BeeWhat happens when you go out with someone you've been warned about? Nothing good...Ricky was waiting for me right where he said he would. I climbed in and he kissed me on the cheek.
"So what movie are we seeing?" I asked.
"That new Axel movie just came out. I hope that's ok" Ricky said.
"It's fine" I answered with butterflies whirling in my stomach.
We sat in silence with the music playing softly. Ricky drove straight to the drive in. He paid for the both of us and we parked just as the movie started. I felt a little awkward since nothing was being said, but Ricky broke the ice.
"Let's move to the backseat there's more room" Ricky said.
I nodded yes and climbed back there. To my shock Ricky put his hand on my butt and pushed me back.
"Hey!" I said and Ricky laughed.
I was just adjusting my dress when clambered into the back.
"You smell so good" Ricky said.
"Thanks" I told him.
"And that dress, baby, you look like a star" Ricky said.
"Funny thing happened to me before I left my house" I said.
"What?" Ricky asked.
"I got a voice mail message" I said.
"From who?" Ricky asked.
"Laura" I said.
Ricky's face went pale. I didn't think he was going to say anything. Then he spoke.
"What did she say?" Ricky asked.
"She said I'm a boyfriend stealer and that she knows we'll be here and just crazy stuff. Is she your girlfriend?" I asked.
"You want me to be honest?" Ricky asked.
"Yes" I said.
"Honestly we're on a break right now. She's allowed to see other people and so am I" Ricky said.
"So you're still together?" I asked.
"Well technically..." Ricky said.
"Oh my God, why didn't you tell me?" I asked.
"It's not that big of a deal" Ricky said.
"Yes it is! I'm not a boyfriend stealer!" I screamed.
"You're not believe me I know" Ricky said.
"All these people have been telling me to stay away from you and I could've listened. How could I've been so stupid?" I asked.
"Look if you want to leave I can take you back home" Ricky said.
"No I want to see this movie really bad" I said.
"So do I" Ricky said.
"Well let's just watch the movie and you take me home right after and no funny business" I said.
"Ok" Ricky said.
We settled it just as the movie started. I felt like crying, but somehow when Axel hit the screen I was taken away and quickly forgot my situation.
Two hours later the movie ended. Ricky and I had been on the edge of our seats.
"That was good" I said as Ricky got out to get into the driver's seat.
"Yea it was. I'm glad we came out here. Hey you hungry?" Ricky asked.
I was starving. I hadn't eaten since breakfast because I'd been so nervous.
"I am" I said.
"We'll go to The Burger Stand and then I'll take you home" Ricky said.
I climbed to the front just as Ricky started the car. I leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. No words were said. Ricky leaned over and kissed me harder. Soon we were making out pretty hard. It was incredible.
"We should get going" I said to Ricky as I pushed him away.
He nodded his head grinning and drove off. © 2009 Tina BeeAuthor's Note
