Where I Don't BelongA Poem by Timothy G. BrittonWhen my quest for life answers began, the questions I asked or observed I saw and took in a more hopeless world with hopeless answers, and found myself in a world of which I didn't belong.Living in a world of which I don’t belong; trying to
find right in a world so full of wrong.
Finding the
right answers is not an easy thing to do; I think I
find the answers then I find that there not true.
The harder it
is to hold on, the harder that I try; the more that
I believe them the more they seem to lie.
So hard to
trust in anyone no matter what I’m told; I open up my
door to them then end up in the cold.
The words “I
love you” are so easy just to say; they say that
it’s forever, then they walk away.
So very many
broken hearts all across the land; in desperate
need of healing, yet never offer their own hand.
It seems the
ones we count on to take away our pain, are sometimes
there to pick us up, then knock us down again.
So I share
some words of wisdom to chase away their fear; to the words
they listen, but the meaning they do not hear.
Why so much
betrayal, this answer I try to find; the more I
try to understand, the more I lose my mind.
Trying to find
the right, in a world so full of wrong; living in a
world of which I don’t belong.
