As I sat for a time, to simply unwind,

 and lose myself in thought.

From reality I'd slip, and began a long needed trip,

Into a place that I somehow forgot.

With my eyes shut tight, oh how wondrous a sight,

was this world I found inside.

I felt calm, I felt wild, like a man, like a child,

in this place that I somehow denied.

Then suddenly I realized, what I saw with my eyes,

is what makes a grown man blind.

To trust what I feel, I would see what was real,

this I came to find.

From so many questions asked, in the years that have passed,

in search of life's true meaning.

When no answers were found, I dropped to the ground,

for I could find no post for leaning.

I figured if there were no reasons why, should I even try,

or is this life here even worth living?

I guess I did not yet understand, what I held in my hand,

was the ability to make the best from what I was given.

From in here I can now see, that we all need to dream,

or we'll forget what life’s really all about.

It's about being happy when things seem bad,

doing good for someone that’s sad,

and remembering faith can always wash away doubt.

So listen and listen well, for the truth I do tell,

this is what life once was to me.

Until I looked down deep inside, and chose not to hide,

from the lies that I came to believe.

Now on any given time of day, I simply drift away,

to a world that’s all my own.

Where you'll not find such a place, on earth or in space,

It’s a place that I call my home.
