Morning

Morning

A Poem by Timothy Rawlings
"

Thoughts on the life awakening for a new day.

"

My eyes, barely open.
Glued together from a night of restless sleep

And Freezing Cold.
I open the door and leave the noisy room.
The one that has been my bed for a few days now.

It's early

The sun creeps over the mountains
Spreading it's rays across the valley.
Birds chirping to the sounds of nature coming alive all around.
This is one of the many things I love.
All the beauty nature has given us, and at a price we can all afford.

FREE!

I begin my journey through quiet streets, and empty neighborhoods.
I spot a man walking down the street.
Walking sticks in both hands.
"Good Morning" he says, as well as I to him.
Then we both part our seperate ways, nothing left but a cheerful grin.

As the morning grows, streets begin to fill with life.
All the night lights go off, all the closed signs now read open.
A man with a camera takes a picture,
Whatever it was, it was the last glimpse
Of an already fleeting Dawn.
I take one last look around.....So peacefull,
Fountains splashing into the ponds below. Birds feeding their young,
A couple walk down the street hand in hand, heart in heart.
Two completely different people joing to make a whole.
And me sitting in the middle of all this beauty and wonder.
This strange relationship between Man and Nature.
All I can do is laugh, hoping for another morning as beautiful as today, tomorrow.

I love it, this write is awesome! I'm not a morning person, but it's forced upon me anyways. So if I could wake up to what you've so beautifully described here in your poem, then I'd bounce out of bed every morning just to get a glimpse of that!! (-: Keep writing Timothy!
