Gypsy Lights

Gypsy Lights

A Poem by Lichen Eyes
"

to my friend, Germaine.

"

It seemed bitter and foreign

Alone, in the darkness

Flipping switches

Waiting

You, and your gypsy hair would come

Waltzing into view

Bringing Stories

The new colored lights,

From the stage below

Would dance in your eyes as you spoke

Oh yes, I remember.

Very beautiful, well written!

This was quite lovely to read. I like the contrast between the first and the second stanzas. It seems like there's an apprehension of the narrator in the first stanza to where he/she is. Then it gets shunned when the other person, I'm assuming a 'she' 'waltzes' into the room, making her presence adored, wanted and needed. I also really love the last three lines of the second stanza. I like the imagery you use. :] It's really a lovely poem. :]
