Los Muchachos

Los Muchachos

A Poem by Daly

Bilingual Poem (English - Spanish)

Los muchachos would

gather by the corner

of the school,

glancing at the muchachas.

Las muchachas bonitas,

with their black faldas

and white camisas.

Los muchachos would

whistle, laugh, and smile

at them.

The school bell rings

and los muchachos

would disperse,

until the next morning.

I enjoyed this observational poem...boys watching girls. It was fun to feel as though I was watching a typical scenerio, but in another country. Great idea going bilingual, and using "known" words that won't frustrate the reader. A fun read! BTW...welcome to Writers cafe! :)
