Love Me In Return

Love Me In Return

A Poem by Jessica Slatton

I stood alone trapped in a world of ever fading love.
My hands were tied by the one I had believed to of trusted the most.
Love was something I thought I had.
But I did not really know what love was.
It was not till the day that you knocked down that dungeon door to save me.
You unbound my hands.
Set me free.
The iron bars fell and I let you into my heart.
I gave you my everything, and expected nothing back.
But now I find myself wanting more.
You have said that you want me.
You say that you want to be close in our natural states and hold me.
The things I fear is that the bond that I want and need is not there.
I fear that it never come
Now I sit and wonder if I should just bring back the bars and close my heart off again.
I fear of getting hurt and It may be to late for that.
I know what I want and that is you, but how can I have you if im not sure that you want me.
To find and except love with another you must first do with your self.
Take that jump.
Let down your bars.
Let me into your life.
Let me love you.
Love me in return.
