Up and Down

Up and Down

A Poem by Noename

Only if the sun rises,

We'll walk to the edge.

Only if the sun sets,

I'll climb back up.

Maybe when I reach the top,

I'll look back down and see the bottom.

Maybe if I hit the floor,

I'll understand the surface.

This is really good, it's so true that sometimes we have to go to an extreme in order to understand. I like the short, almost choppy, lines and the quick pace.

No maybes about it, this is a great piece. I really like your short style. Not because I don't like to read long pieces but I've always felt a comfort and strength in them. This one allows the reader to be drawn in and associate themselves with what you've written. It's not too telling to the point of leaving nothing to the imagination and yet one still gets the sense and feel of what you, the writer, is trying to say.

Great write.
