Rays

Rays

A Poem by Noename

Single rays that penetrate glass,

Taunting an existence beyond

That of which has come to pass.

Reflections reverberate the light

Past our existing skin

And grow realization of the coming day.

Beside the window, cradling the frigid air

From tainting our skin,

The source of light gleams on earth

Solemnly, watching as its arrival summon a sight

Of day.

And open eye peering through the rays,

Catching the early face of the sun,

Nodding in agreement with the notion

Of a new day.

Of trying to force the maladies away,

Even if they find a way to stay,

During the pass onward to the next day.
