River of Time

River of Time

A Poem by Noename

I've entered today,

   and hoped for tomorrow,

But, every tomorrow seems to be today.

The river of time flows

Without hesitation,

as the stones beneath the surface

     rearange over time,

Telling stories that will

One day be gone.

Time overflows as the river overlaps itself,

Flowing down a repeated path.

Too many of my thoughts

Pause at the river and let it's water

Tick by. . .

Abnormal, to think,

time is immortal yet is frequently dieing,

Passing over our shoulders.

We are the mortal ones,

Why is it time appreciated dies

          before we?

Time hopes for no future,

   and dwels on no past.

Only hope is to join in the flow,

Let go of the rivers edges,

Enjoy the running water,

The river doesn't wait to enjoy you.
