Anthem of Dissent

Anthem of Dissent

A Poem by Tim Edwards
"

Hold us back, Break us down.

"
Born of truth,
Is nature's perfection
Turned and twisted
By divine intervention

Senseless murder
With holy intent
No moral matters
With gods consent

You've shown your true nature to me
(betrayer)
Exposed, you will be, for everyone to see
(craven)
In time, the light of a thousand deeds surface
(deceiver)
Paradigms shift, and fight to write the final preface.
(victory)

This life is not for the faint of heart
These rites have left their tainted mark
Designs of an aged mentality
Resigned to a mythical deity

Hold us back
Break us down
The harder we fall
The stronger we become

Hold us back
Break us down
The harder we fall
The stronger we become
