Overcoat of Green

Overcoat of Green

A Poem by Tim Edwards
"

Anti-Materialism

"
Wear it well, this overcoat of green.
For in time, we meet the end of things.
There is no room for your quelled dreams.
No room in heaven for your overcoat of green.

So enjoy it now, while your on top.
Dreaming so lonely, that this world will never stop.
It will, my friend, it will.  Time as tide.
Perhaps when your body is decayed and dry,
by then you'll have realized.

Treaties of respect and manners,
are the important factors.
Bits of green cotton will follow no man,
only his deeds, good and bad.
