Sea Creatures

Took a lot of research, so hope this poem is ok

The variety of creatures beneath the sea

From the great blue whale to the abalone

All are at great risk of man

Whose need to feed is their great plan

Or send great tankers across the sea

Unpredictable crashes send their cargo free

Sea life in peril from oil leaks

From gullets of fish to sea birds’ beaks

In Denmark, many dolphins are killed

In a rite of passage, boys’ hearts become chilled

Whaling is still common in some countries

Despite a three decade ban on these bounties

At fault are Japan, Iceland and even Norway

Who boldly go whaling each and every day

Many of our oceans are being fished out

Soon, there’ll be a seafood drought

Careless over fishing will soon empty seas

Using massive nets with much ease

Endangered mammals get caught up

In this emotionless routine roundup

To save mankind, there’s one main key

Leave alone the sea creatures beneath the sea.
