A Need to VentA Poem by TigerSpiritDedicated to my mum who died of Cancer in May of 2011. I still think of her everyday.Once again, I feel, I'm crying inside; Outside, I'm numb, no tears to hide;
Cancer and mum are now at war; Emphysema's cough leaves mum sore;
Greed and Bureaucracy make me ill; It's only money that determines mum's will;
Treated are the rich, the poor overlooked; Money's a b***h when you're not booked;
If you're poor, the doctors wait and wait; Then wait some more till it's too late;
If you're rich, doctors jump to cure; The thickness of your purse is their main lure;
The prettier you look, the younger you be; Doctors'll do anything to open their minds and see;
But long years pass and age wearies beauty; And poor seniors are overlooked due to lack of money.
So now mum has cancer, emphysema and more; She's accepted her fate, no tears anymore. © 2016 TigerSpirit
