Rape

the raw unspoken form of love and hatred mixed

Stomach rumbles and quakes from being fed lies

Coughing up the bitter taste of truth

Nasty comments cakes up on my tongue

Acid of betrayal drips onto my heart

 

Pretty red gems gather,

Running down bent and battered legs

Hard cement touches hold me down

While screams of hatred come up

 

Silvery steel meets scarred flesh

Slashing away at my infected body

Un-purified red river flows against

The dirty grey blocks of my tomb

It's a poem with a lot of sensory avenues to take you on a trip of the "1st person" view..... which is nuts!! lol Very descriptive. I've known and befriended those that have been victims of rape, but I don't think they would have described it this way. They are also not "poets". : ) Curious: If this is so dramatic and violent, what DOES it take for a poem to be labeled "Mature"? -Mark
