This Game

This Game

A Poem by Chip
"

I think the poem is easy enough to understand

"

Here we set off on this game again,

The one I’ve played a hundred times over.

Now my heart prepares as it hardens,

I’ve lost my sympathy for you.

They say love never lasts,

And how right they are.

I never thought I’d see your betray me,

And create me a world of hate.

You dropped me off your shoulders,

As if I was just nothing.

But in the pain of the moment,

I spread my wings and soared up.

While your bitter friends despise me,

And you made me look like a freak.

I have to thank you for your hate,

Because it made just the bit stronger.
