Let He Not Know

Let He Not Know

A Poem by Chip
"

An improved version of my previous piece.

"
The stars sparkled,
And the red lights bloomed
Brightly on the pavement,
While my eyes glistened;
Strong emotion
and cold, carving air stung.
Sparks flew from the fireworks,
It felt like nothing was wrong.
A gasp filled my lung.

No soul was present at ten;
Twas just you and I.
Pulling me closer
Your jacket was rough,
Shaking, I took a bite,
A bite of your sweet poison.
Let he not know what we've done,
Or face the consequences
Of this lust.

The dark clouds covered the stars,
And white streaks slashed the red lights,
Which bounced on the pavement,
You were gone.
I was left in the rain:
Facing the pain.
