I Like to Think I'm Strong

I Like to Think I'm Strong

A Poem by Tatiana Lexia

Sometimes I will sit here

And let my life fly by.

I won’t experience life,

But I do not want to die.

I’ll be scared and worried

That no one will accept me.

That I’m not a normal person;

I’m just a girl with an ED.

These insecurities destroy me

From the inside and out

Every day I feel trapped

And no one hears me shout.

I like to think I’m strong,

That nothing can hurt me

But then someone comes along

And makes me blind when I should see.

In the end and through it all

It’s something you don’t see.

Even after all I’ve said,

I’d still choose to be me.
