For Forever and Today

In the minutes and the hours
You cross my mind each day.
From sun rise to sun slumber
You never go away.
Forever in my thoughts
I think it's safe to say
That you are my one and only
For forever and today.


There aren't so many things
That I will admit.
But there are so many words,
Upon my tongue they sit.
You will never know
How I truly feel
Because I fear that you
are my Achilles's Heel.


Please don't think me ill
Because that really isn't true
I'm just waiting for the bill,
When you are finally through.
But I think it's safe to say
That you are my one and only
For forever and today.
