Not Yet

Not Yet

A Poem by Tatiana Lexia

"Not yet."

It's an echo in the night.

"Not yet."

It aches just to write.

I’m partially to blame,

For the events that have occurred.

We burned too bright a flame;

Our vision was blurred.

Is it bad that I find this wrong?

The doubted and the hurt.

We are both so strong"

Maybe a little too alert.

Could fear be the defense?

Could love just not be there?

They say “love” has no past tense;

This is true, I swear.

There isn’t more that I can say.

I miss you

The most in the past few days.

 But I don’t know what to do.

Please don’t go.

I can’t say it enough.

In whispers or in shouts,

Because every goodbye has a hello.

And our hello has yet to show.
