Surreal Poetry

A Poem by Tia Dioszeghy

all these pictures, horrifying and glorious in one

This poor baby crying, abandoned

Okay

Okay

Okay

I hate it when people don’t spell that out it’s rude

Our society needs better grammar

Alfie is the most illiterate person i’ve ever met

No wonder he’s in prison now

Okay bye

The bird that this guy drew

What kind is it? Maybe a raven

Nevermore

I liked that poem from last year

But i liked lord of the flies better, because i understood it better

Now they’re sitting at a booth

Like how my papa and I do sometimes, because i rarely see him now

Why did he leave us, why did he cheat

I looked up to him, I thought he was stronger than that

But just like tiger woods, he gave into the machine

And now i only see him at times like this, at a booth, eating

Hit the table, judge, demand,

Expect the whole world and then some out of this child

As every guardian does.

Do it until the child wants to hurt himself

Do it until the child is a man according to your expectations

And then they’re grown up

And you have no more time.
