Promise~cuousA Poem by ThunderlyricsI made the solemn promise
That I’d be true to you But as time dwindles on I find it’s not so easy to do The problem is you being So far away from me.. This love affair we started Has got me restless…see You reaffirm Your love “sometimes” But these bouts of disappearance Is really messing with my mind.. That phone call connection Goes along way When I’m holding it down I need to hear that “baby, it’s ok” You said I was a trooper And I can stand on my own But I don’t think it wise To leave me here all alone For months at a time I wait, wait and contemplate Should I move on now? I’ve been asked on many o’ dates How would you feel If I told you that I slipped Would you say its “understandable” Or be ready to flip the script Saying “How could I “ Or don’t I have discipline? When the actuality is You’re not here..and every day I see him Telling me how good I smell And how he likes my new cut Brings a smile to my face When I feel I’m in a rut Saw me at the bus stop Waiting patiently Made a U-turn in the street To come and get me… Conversation wasn’t suggestive Just, I know he cares Trying not to make eye contact But homeboy truly stares Shares things about me That I don’t think you know What my favorite color is And my love for comedy shows Said to me “Thunder, I Can be THAT dude,” I’m all that you need Intentions not misconstrued” Yes, intelligent he is But he cannot get between us… Come and check me baby… Before I become “Promise~cuous” © 2009 ThunderlyricsReviews
