He's My Friend...D****t!!

He's My Friend...D****t!!

A Poem by Thunderlyrics
"

A intimate look at persons who have been friends for a very..very long time.

"

Random phone call
Exactly twelve thirty
Whatchu doin’?
Was his only wording

Getting’ lunch…
Sup with you?
My reply is standard
This we always do

I’m a block away
Wait up for me..
I’m like, what? For real?
You gots to be kidding??

See, dude lives far
Haven’t seen him in a year
We always make plans
But truly get nowhere

Thank God it’s Friday
And I look extra nice
Checked hair and makeup
Paid for my chicken and rice

Then I recall as..
Eyes touch his face
He cares not how I look
It’s about sharing same space

Wraps his arms around me
Hug purporting me to heaven
See, he is six foot six..
To my “average” five foot seven

Places me back down
Proceeding to go wild
“I’ve found my cousin Numpsy!!”
Distorted lines from “The golden child”

I back away embarrassed
But laughing all the same
I truly missed big head
I forgot he’s a little crazed
Said quick goodbyes
Vowing to meet up later
I’m in a great mood now
Speaking to strangers on the elevator

Needless for me to say
What a great time we had
Walking the streets of Times Square
Even played some laser tag

Time for dinner and drinks
The night was laughter’s bliss
In the middle of playful bickering
He reached down to steal a kiss

Caught by surprise!!
Did you just.. Oh My..hmm Oh My!!
This moment’s perspective changed
I am feeling my friend, why lie?

Headed for his car
Hugging waists, it starts to rain
We turn and laugh with each other
While sizing up lips to claim

Backed into a stage door
Cool of water mixes with heat
Can’t get closer so squirming
For that ultimate confection of sweet

Hands explore with familiarity
Although we pose as friends
Every time we have the chance
The love affair begins again

But…in the end

He is Still My Friend…

D****t!!!

I really enjoyed this poem. When youre friends that long and become that familiar with someone of the opposite sex, lines can be blurred. This made me smile!

:) oh it is good to see that women go through this friendship ladder thing as well as men. This was a good look at how it feels to like someone who is a friend and your constantly reminded of that fact. I was smiling all the way through this one. Very nice write it was like being able to hear her intimate thoughts.

This is great! It shows what a confusing situation it is. Are you friends, are you more? Probably just friends, but maybe...Ha! I thought it was a wonderful story you told and I loved the ending. It brought a smile to my face.
