A Single Black RoseA Poem by Thunderlyrics
A single black rose…
Floats in the stream of my mind
In remembrance of you
And the love we sought to find
Its petals are still cushiony soft
Although time has added its mark
The edges are now furled
Manifesting the journeys embarked
Gliding gently in the water
Whilst the sun beats upon it daily
Amazingly still holds a faint scent
If held to nostril, fragrance would assail thee
Never plucked from this destiny
It will indefinitely drift abroad
Succumbing to earth from which it sprang
Completing a cycle that has forever awed
My love for you…
Is like the stigma of a black rose
Hoping to be pollinated on your breeze
For in reproducing, it will never decompose
