Zeal is in the Blood

Zeal is in the Blood

A Poem by Jen
"

Forgive me if this sounds melodramatic. I just watched New Moon the other night, and with a title like this, a love poem came out. This was written for the One Letter Poems contest.

"

Zeal is in the Blood

My heart pounds for you.

I run blindly past

your open arms.

I can’t see for the tears I shed.

Yet you reach for me,

take hold of me.

My blood churns at your touch.

I need you more than you can know.

Hold me tight, don’t let me go.

I can’t stop

this desire to have

you near me.

It’s in my blood.

You are in my blood.

I die for you.

I burn for you.

You are my passion.

You are my zeal.

My only peace is you.
