To the Girl that broke your heart

To the Girl that broke your heart

A Poem by Nina
"

Just a poem of distress

"
In front of me is the man I love.
The man I have felt an instant connection with from the moment he smiled my way.
In front of me is the man that gives me butterflies when he talks,
makes my stomach do somersaults
because I'm so happy, nervous I can't control myself.
In front of me is someone I want to grow old with.
Someone who is emotional and passionate and amazing in every aspect.
In front of me, I also see the destruction you left behind.
In front of me is a man who loved you with every part of himself; crying when he lost you and wanting desperately to be with you.
In front of me is a man who terrified to love again because the last time left him shattered, broken.
In front of me, I see the fear he tried to hide so desperately behind a smile.
The fear that he will be hurt by someone who claims to love him because you broke your promise.
In front of me, I see the remnants of a bad relationship being seen as an amazing one;
holding tightly to what was good in and with you.
But I'm here, in front of him now.
WIlling to do anything and everything in my power to make him happy.
And you? You're the reason he is terrified to let it happen.
But I will make him happier than you ever did.
In front of me,
I see the man I will prove that true love really does exist
and that he deserves it.

My first reaction, "Who writes such a thing?" This is ... FREAKIN' BRILLIANT and CLEVER. Not sure you are fully aware of what you have here. Well, I can tell you it's a new instant classic in my stash.
Thanks for sharing this (100/100) heart art.

You're very welcome, but I, too, needed this one.

Incredible! If an emotion response was your goal then... BULLSEYE! Reminds me of one of mine called "Love Grenade". Where are the others that feel like you do about someone?

Haha thank you, glad you liked it!
Honest and direct emotions in the words.
"In front of me,
I see the man I will prove that true love really does exist
and that he deserves it."
When we face love and it is sweet and kind. No better days in a long life. I liked the above lines and thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
This is really painful to read, I once wrote a very similar poem on a similar idea for my ex girlfriend. I love it.
