One Second Too LateA Poem by Crifa
Running toward that last hope,
Grasping for that glimpse of light. Holding tight, pretending to cope, You stay restless through the night. Flashbacks over that dreadful day, Waves consume her, take her away. Why didn't you save her from the sea, An almost hero is all you could be. Slapping and slipping on her soft skin, You breathed deep and blew. No pulse, no pressure, coming within, Watching was all you could do. Through every tear you shed grew love, Love unknown until this date. The light takes her from heaven above, Because you my friend, were one second too late. © 2012 CrifaFeatured Review
