ReflectionsA Poem by Crifa
Out of the water and into the fog,
A once drowning man now eyes clog. Hands out in front to avoid what's ahead, Sheltering himself from the pain before shed. Coming upon a mirror in the clear Still blurred from the cloudy air. Sleeve of his shirt, water vapor smear, Looking upon a glass now bare. But a reflection shown that was not expected, A man stands trapped in the crystal protected. Forgotten in shame of the past that does haunt, A soul lost from the person his memories did daunt. Hand on the glass, the past trying to escape This prison created by the loss of reality. The man holds up a hand to this oval shape To bring back the once forsaken morality. © 2014 Crifa |
