You Are My Daughter

You Are My Daughter

A Poem by Robert
"

My Daughter

"

You are of me every filament

You are everything I will never be

You have never let me down and

have always lifted me up higher

You are strong in your spirit of life

but tangibly not as most are.

I am of you every filament

I am everything you will never be

I have never wanted to let you down

but the day will come when I do

I am not as strong as you in spirit

but tangibly I am more than most.

I am determined to see to it that I

     do not lose you

You are determined to see to it that you

     will not give up

I am the voice of reason and logic

You are the voice of hope and faith.

This is one of the most beautifully-stated messages I've read about a father-daughter relationship. Here's what makes your tribute especially appealing: You do not place yourself above your daughter, or she above you. I love the way you present each of your strengths, yet without any hidden tones of comparison or judgment. Your message uplifts you BOTH in separate & unique ways, this being culminated in the last 2 lines which are awesome. Any daughter would be totally blessed to have such a father.

I love the ending of this one. It's extremely hopeful, and since you say "you are the voice of hope and faith", it makes it seem like you've definitely been already affected by this person. Very nice job and a good read.

Thank you so much for the review and compliment.
Beautiful piece of writing for that precious darling, your words are pure and sincere, she is your weak spot and your strength at the
same time, well done Sir, I've written something similar but your wordings are more mature than mine.. Thanks.

The love and commitment you pledge to your precious daughter is that which resonates with emotions from a heart of complete, "all in" support, no matter what the circumstances! Your level of determination cannot be denied, your desire to stand by her through thick and thin, in times of good health, in times of sickness, as a father who gives nothing less than LOVE!
You have reason and hope to help her. She has the hope and faith to forever have your dedication and commitment to her!!

A very touching dedication to your daughter, and to you, as her father!! She is so very beautiful!! Thank you for sharing the photo of her with us!!

Thanks Dante.
This is a very well written, sweet tribute to your daughter Robert, I'm very sure that she will be touched by this wonderful poem. It's clear that you put a good deal of effort into this, and I think that you gave it as much emotion and passion as one could possibly give anything. I really like the syntax you began the first two sets of lines with.

I don't have a child(because I'm still a child myself), but I do know that feeling of just loving something. The smile those cherished things can put on your face, even when nothing else can, and the feeling that everything is right that one gets upon being with those things are part of what makes up our heart, our drive, and our memories. Fantastic job, my friend, I'm sure your daughter is very proud to have you as her father :)
