![]() MaidenbloodA Poem by GTVile![]() A black metal song in memoriam for Elizabeth Bathory. Every other metal band seemed to write a song about her, so I figured we would too.![]() In 1560 there was born A black mistress who craved the blood Of innocent maidens forlorn And buried them in cold, dank mud
Needles, scissors, hot pokers, knives All those blades in secretive use Tools for the trade of taking lives Bore witness to months of abuse
Witches and servants cut out the flood To quench her thirst for maidenblood
A warm bath drawn from maiden veins Showers from the Iron Virgin Erased the lines of age's stains Well kept secret, the heinous sin
Destruction wrought by her own hand Too many dead left to bury Empty corpses across the land Were strewn about so carelessly
Witches and servants cut out the flood To quench her thirst for maidenblood
Her noble blood too rich to die A casket made of castle walls Death, no longer, could she defy At 54 the Countess falls © 2010 GTVileAuthor's Note
