“Bare Nature of Things”

“Bare Nature of Things”

A Poem by Tommy
"

In a cold blink of an eye, she was gone...

"

Like snow, on the twenty-fourth of July,

rolling in, over the bear essence, ravaging

skinny dipped souls, in and out, quick, leaving bitter,

chilled to the bone; running away.

(Taking the heart that dressed this sleeve.)

Cooling lake of fire, blue waves, "Good bye,"

Rocky Mountain heights, passions of love lost

at second glance, watching flakes etched fall

from frigid iced over hearts.

(Abominable and we’re alone)

Sometimes life is unpredictable,

like summer snow, we

never had a chance,

and in a cold blink of an eye, she was gone...

this is a sad tale and reminds me of some one moving away. the summer snow brings in the cold feeling that it leaves in the heart and gives a clear picture to the feelings. the flow was done wonderfully and the imagery fits this sad tale of losing someone.

Unpredictability can be quite interesting for those who are still young at heart! To a certain extent, it adds spice to everyday life and helps us realize not to take things for granted.

I was sure that I reviewed this already!! Never mind..LOL

Powerful metaphorical message..of sadness and lost..like the use of natural elements - it works really well

As always your words seep inside my brain and linger fro that lasting moment and then as they leave I sigh. Images in this was fantastic.Life is always unpredictable, just when one thinks they understand it it changes, as things leave us, new things come.
Brilliant piece of work here.

This is quite amazing, I applaud you sir, it reminds me of lake Michigan durring the spring, its quite beautiful, its simple but I think simplicity is quite beautiful in itself.

This really just took me there...that quick burst of passion, it is so sudden, confusing and brilliant. I know that there is heartache here, that is present, and I feel a bit of something else, something that recalls joy of at least having the experience. Love lost...and so on ;) Really nice write! ~ Rose

Well love is like that it like other things is sometimes best in smaller doses

mind bogging contradictions - fantastic and insightful - igniting imagination beyond the extraordinary- this is what triggered in me when i read the abstract lines -

passions of love lost - at second glance (perhaps the excitment of love is in its trigger to be found at first glance but then overlooked as time and practical application of survival forgets love)

Sometimes life is unpredictable, like summer snow, we never had a chance,
and in a cold blink of an eye, she was gone...(the seasons of love changing could not endure the harshness of winter)
