"Thank you"

"Thank you"

A Chapter by Tommy

Inspired by Ed's "as a child" http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/edhart7/672502/

"

If only we could keep the visions

seen as through the eyes of child.

It seems that as we grow

our perception of innocence is marred

by the ways of the world.

We lose that feeling of purity and run from it

trying to make our own paths.

However, at some point we are destined

to turn our heads and look at how far we have strayed

from that of who we were meant to be;

in all its simplicity,

we have made things complicated.

It is the little charms in life that count isn't it?

A smiling face, the wave hello, showing respect for our elders,

the little things that make all the difference,

Like saying, Thank you...

AMEN! to that~ as little ones we are taught the manners and social graces that would ensure a somewhat smooth sailing through the waters of interactions with our fellow humans~ I think the adolescent years numb down those lessons which may take a long time to return~
fabulous lesson encapsulated within your poem~
