"Fickle the Riddle is..."

"Fickle the Riddle is..."

A Poem by Tommy
"

Another old one...

"

Trapped in the limbo of High and low;

a battle of Up and down...

My life is a rollercoaster of morality;

a test of mortality...

temptation sometimes sees the Light,

led by the darkness of this life...

A never ending battle from within;

Good or evil who will win?

Who will I be?

Which will I succumb to, the One or the other?

Only time can tell this story of Heaven and hell...

Good or evil who will win? is a great attention capturing line. We all struggle with "inner demons" Not one of us on this earth is perfect and we will constantly battle between right and wrong with the choices we face in life. It is when we no longer say good or evil who will win that we have a problem. Creative and unique.

We all run this same obstacle course, venturing back and forth across each line. At least the score-keeper will be fair, so I believe.

This speaks to all who struggle with deep lows. We forever try to reach the light so many others seem to have a death grip on.
"My life is a rollercoaster of morality;"
"Temptation sometimes sees the light,
led by the darkness of this life..."

And, more literally it shows the struggle for truth. It's easy to hide behind lies and excuses...much harder still to own up. Perhaps that in truth is humanity's hell...the struggle over morality and truth.

We are split in two at times, do we listen to the Devil on one shoulder or the Angel on the other shoulder?. Enjoyed reading.
