Life

Life

A Poem by Tom English

Life is nothing
Life is stress
And life is anxiety
I wanna puke
I wanna cry
I wanna dig a hole and hide
Life is nothing
A nothing so empty
It's all you worry
It's all you dream
It's all you drink away with various liquors and things
Life is nothing
Life is s**t
Life is a joke
And we're the punchline
Just waiting to choke
Life is nothing
and that is everything

This piece is intense. It's as if the words are being spat out right in front of me. The tone is loud and angry, an outcry against life itself. It's raw and easy to relate to. Anyone could read this and know exactly what its like to feel like this. I agree actually and that's funny cause most of my pieces are happy and romantic. Keep doing what you're doing and live on, champ.

This is staccato language and cadence. It reminds me of lyrics. It is the kind of invective we all spew when we have had the Day From Hell. Anyone can relate to this, and that is important.
