The Dimmest Light

The Dimmest Light

A Poem by C Peril

I wish to know you in the dimmest light.
As an essence. As a meaning.
Take me to your lips, as the prophet
to the truth; the adventurer to the jewel.
Clasp me, cling, the treasured note
the one to sing

to set heart's gates golden
open... clouds in a Kingdom of ecstasy
for the figure floating next to me
is alive and animated by the same feeling
of all encompassing want. Need.

Ordained to partake
in the momentary magic
of wakeful loss of self. As softly
your shifting fingers cup my face
and show the final sight of an Eon
of glowing warm pink oceans

empty of all pain

of time.
