Always, Urging

Always, Urging

A Poem by C Peril

Yearning is elementary, human
gravity Whether it's for hope or
sordid depravity The ache of the
eye; the urge ushered in by
other unmentionable things
The blood in the cauldron of who
we are, to travel far on the whim
of this ineluctable spin
Orbits and wishes and simple
inevitabilities Almost silicone
circuit electron stabilities
As we crawl on the knees of our
needing and sip at the Fountain
of Breathing The man who desires
no more is a liar; the man who
desires no more is Dead

I do so love your poetry.
The run-ons hard for my old eyes.
So I would do it differently
Since Emily's my muse
And Robert Frost my prime.
But then the heart and soul of you -
it must be yours not mine.

Take that, Buddha. Great rhythm and many great lines here. "to travel far on the whim /
of this ineluctable spin" is my favorite.
