There was roomA Poem by C PerilOne word - reconciliation * Inspired by Brian Fallon's song You Have Stolen My Heart
There was room for you in the denim of my jacket
and the beating of my heart, room for you in the blankets bundled up on the bed, the foggy meadow in my misty head There was room for you in the chill autumn blue and in the clasp of my hand, on the cobbles out in the cold and there was room for you in the kettle as I boiled water There was room for you in the white pages of my notebook, where you could leave footprints in the pristine snow, where you could whisper in my ear and never let go There was room in my smile and room in my eyes, room for a tale but never for lies And now the room that was made is there for you to grow and there's room for the future, of which we cannot speak... we're not yet to know
