Promise (Our Story)

Promise (Our Story)

A Poem by C Peril

Do you remember November?
You rushed out, in a hurry, spontaneous
flurry And you were in my arms

It was instant, hit me like a brick
Chemistry took over me
Cuddles, chaos, laughing and living
in a bright, blissful world

I watched you eat in Burger King
- it's not a metaphor - yet I adored
watching you scoff, gulp, chew Chow down

You chose onions and became self conscious!

Back in the black of our apartment
We first touched in that way and wow,
what wonder as I began to blunder,
beg and beckon to God - to see the treasures of his work

Well, we strolled along,
think you sang songs and clutched my
arm - not a moment passed without you
my lass, being firmly latched

The bars we frequented for our drinks,
I saw something more than vision in the dim
light; something of your heart felt nature

And I knew that I had wandered
long enough

January came and in some ways it was the same
but in others we were building; see
you had met my good friends

And saw the bonds that made me

We sipped coffee in sweet cafes
and crunched on Mexican breakfast
Buy me that notebook!

But know this, love, each day does pass
and I want more of our story
Step by step, with each other

Write the page, ignore the number
