Other Thing LostA Poem by C PerilA melancholic poem about a romance which time has snuffed out.
I never thought you'd be some
other thing lost I never thought we'd turn away from each other Let the night wonder in between us I never thought there'd be this distance A deficit of romance as absence takes it toll Time tracks your cold retreat I never thought you'd be a path I took One footnote in a history book That we'd both be sleeping so lonely I never thought you'd come and go Never planned for that tomorrow, no I never thought you'd be gone Painful is the realisation that true devotion is a little more than I can muster Couldn't dote on you Couldn't do the things you asked me to Goodbye my other thing lost
