Are You Out There?

Are You Out There?

A Poem by Thomas Cove

Are You Out There?

I hate to seem like I don’t believe,

But you make it so hard to trust just a whisper of faith.

Is it truly that easy,

To blindly have courage,

In something you can’t even see?

I know they say that believing is seeing,

But I think that seeing is believing.

Can you really be out there,

In a world so full of hate,

Even if you made it to be so great?

They say you’re our father,

And we can’t forget you’re the savior.

But it all happened so long ago.

I can’t fathom how it can be possible,

If I can’t see it with my own eyes.

You sit up high, so far in the sky,

With your children of Angels up there with you,

Yet beings of such great power and good,

Seem to do nothing, except watch us,

As we battle our demons,

And tear ourselves apart at the seams.
