Long-Forgotten DaysA Poem by ThoctarBeing nostalgic. Thinking about the Past.Long-Forgotten Days Often as I sit and look up into empty space Into my memories I remember those long-forgotten days And wonder what kept me going I thought that all I had to do was endure All the pain and sufferings of Yore All I had to do was survive And it would all get better I hoped it would all go away It would all just disappear Clinging onto false hopes That I knew inside could never be realised If I were to go back to that place The place I spent all of my memories I would fall to my knees As the memories came flooding back to me. Back then, only surviving Living I did little The day-to-day existence Kept alive with false hopes The waves of pain They flow over my body Into my heart they sink Everytime the memories come back Memories flooding back to me As I look up into my memories And remember those long forgotten days And wonder why I’m still here
