Two Words

‘Your hugs’

This is all that you left behind

Two words on a document, and the rest of us with a hole

In our hearts

Even though the page is so bare

You fill every crack and corner,

What were you thinking, feeling, hoping?

When you wrote these words

Whose hugs were you thinking about?

What person filled your mind, who was-

No, I shouldn’t be asking this, to someone

Who cannot answer

The wind must be tired of our questions, of the things that

Nothing could ever know

Breath full of uncertainty and melancholy, swirling in the air

It looks so alive doesn’t it? I blink and it’s gone

I wish I hadn’t blinked, and I wish you never left

Left me with these two words, and I will go all my days

Wondering what you had meant with

‘Your hugs’

This is Powerful. I admire how you have given this piece a dramatic approach. I can sense that the writer is trying to explore aspects of another. It's a passionate poem that speaks for itself. I can somehow relate to this. I've truly enjoyed such a fantastic read.

Thank you for your praise, the rhyming scheme in this poem was something I wasn't really thinking about, I have a tendency to rhyme certain lines but not others haha
