PrologueA Chapter by KaiJust a continuation
Silence. It can drive a man insane. So was the silence surrounding the two young men as they descended the spiral staircase leading to the lowest levels of their home. The two looked to be around the age of eighteen. Both were dressed in matching suits of red and black. Neither made a sound as they arrived at the level where they kept their most prized possession. The sole thing they would both gladly die for. Even as they opened the wooden door not a sound was made. The door opened inward into a large dark windowless room with only a small candle as a light source and little furniture. The furniture in the room consisted of a large bed on one wall, a wardrobe on the opposite, and to the left of the door was a vanity with a large mirror attached to it and the candle upon it. Sitting at the vanity was a young woman illuminated by the light of the candle in front of her. As the two young men entered the room the woman made no sound. Slowly the younger looking of the two boys walked toward the girl. As he got closer to her an insane looking smile crossed his face. “Mariaaaaa!” He said in a singsong voice that seemed almost too sweet. The sudden contrast from the deathly silence to the loud seemed not to bother ether the other boy or the girl. The boy, who had spoken, turned the girl called Maria and the chair so that they faced him and the door. Crouching down slightly so that he was eye to eye with her the same smile crossed his face. “Maria! It’s time for your medicine!” He said as he pulled out a vile filled with a dark liquid. Pulling the cork out he gently opened her mouth and tilted the vile so that it’s contents easily slipped down her throat. Still the girl made no movement or sound. “Don’t worry Maria,” the boy still by the door quietly said. “Soon we will be able to go out again. You won’t have to take medicine anymore…and you, Emil and I…we’ll go back to the way we were.” When he stopped talking a tear slowly slid down Maria’s cheek. “Don’t cry Maria! Ren isn’t lying…we’ll be a family again!” “They’re very amusing aren’t they?” Said a dark figure as it watched the scene through a mirror. “When will they learn…they are mine forever.”
