Heartbreak.

We all know heartbreak.

I know heartbreak,

I see it every day.

It's the void we're all heading for,

and the things we don't say.

I know heartbreak,

I hear it all the time.

The deep breath before the jump,

the plummet to decline.

You know heartbreak,

it's what you feel with love.

When it breaks and it shatters,

and you've just about had enough.

You know heartbreak,

it's what you say with aplomb.

You speak it from the chest,

and then you brace for the bomb.

My first poem in a long time. I just felt compelled to type it, nothing else to what with lock down and all. Hope everyone is staying safe! x

Heartbreak, and current times aren't helping. So many people struggling with loss. Loss through illness, loss of love. It's all around us and we have to learn to deal with its sadness and often devastation. Yes, we brace ourselves and hope we aren't going to get blitzed. So pleased you are back posting. I felt this one LE.
