I haven't Done This in a While.

A poem to shake off the cobwebs after a very long hiatus. Please read and feedback and I will do the same for you. x

I haven't done this in a while,

so forgive me if I'm shy.

Forgive me if I falter,

forgive me if I lie.

Forgive these rusty fingers,

that fall on rusty keys.

Forgive the way the words no longer,

spill from me with ease.

You see the years have changed me,

they left me rather rough.

I got somewhat distracted,

by some distracting stuff.

I feel a little lost here,

I think I lost the map.

What once was my expression,

now feels more like a trap.

So as I write these words out,

I'm hoping just a little.

That you will sit and hear me,

maybe meet me in the middle?

This is lovely poetry.
Ive just returned to writing poetry as well. I'm finding my well of inspiration is pretty dry, but I'm starting to think in tetrameter again.

You haven't lost your touch, even though you say you haven't done this for a while. Your poem has a good rhythm to it and rhymes nicely. Also it is an enjoyable read. Meet you in the middle? Nope, you are still in the driving seat.
