The Bloody Chamber.

The Bloody Chamber.

A Poem by L.E.Osborne
"

For anyone who's ever read The Bloody Chamber By Angela Carter this is for you! If you haven't READ THAT STORY it's brilliant :)

"
I hold the keys you left me with,
you granted me a wish.
That any key I held in hand,
was mine with which to fish.

All except for one you said,
I never must explore.
The darkest key a secret held.
behind that secret door.

Once you'd set off on on your way,
I took the keys and ran.
Along the halls and up the stairs,
I fear this was your plan.

I stared through every peep hole,
of doors I could unlock.
but I even I could not ignore,
the ticking of the clock.

It was only a question of when and how,
there was no if or why.
for when the darkness fell,
I was feeling rather sly.

I crept along the halls,
with the blackest key on show.
the door that towered over me,
filled with wonders I did not know.

But when I opened the wooden seal,
the room was cold and dark.
and even with the candles there,
I did not feel one spark.

Hello L.E.Osborne,

You are a genius! A WONDERFUL piece indeed. The words clicked flawlessly, and there were no punctuation errors of any kind. Nothing bad to say really, everything was perfect.

Definitely checking out all your other poems,
Shogun
